Cleanplate shows public restaurant inspection results from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. You can browse and search without giving us anything about yourself. We have no accounts, names, emails, or passwords.
If you install the iOS app and turn on alerts, we store three things, none of which identify you personally: a random device ID we generate (it is not your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID), the list of restaurants you save, and a notification token from Apple. We use these only to send you a notification when a restaurant you saved has its health grade drop in the county records.
No location tracking. No advertising. No selling or sharing your data. No third-party trackers. Analytics is Cloudflare's privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic count, plus our own anonymous feature tallies (for example, how many times Save or Subscribe gets tapped) with no identifiers attached. Neither profiles individual visitors.
All scores, grades, and violations come from the LA County Department of Public Health open inspection feed, updated as the county posts new inspections and grade changes. Cleanplate is not affiliated with or endorsed by the county.
Remove a saved place at any time to stop alerts for it. Turn off notifications in iOS Settings, or delete the app, to stop all alerts and have us stop sending to your device. To request deletion of the saved data tied to your device, email the address below.
